Driver in Donegal tests positive for cannabis after being caught speeding

A vehicle was stopped for speeding, where it was discovered there was no tax before the driver tested positive for cannabis and an arrest was made

Driver in Donegal tests positive for cannabis after being caught speeding

Letterkenny Roads Policing Unit detected a vehicle that was being driven in excess of the legal speed limit on Friday evening.

It was also established that the vehicle was not taxed. The vehicle was stopped and the driver tested positive for cannabis and an arrest was made. Fixed Charge Penalty Notices will be issued and a court appearance may follow. 

"Never drive while under the influence of alcohol or drugs," An Garda Siochana said "Slow down. Help save lives on the roads by making responsible choices."
