The makeshift braking set-up discovered by gardaí in Letterkenny this evening

An individual whose makeshift braking system was described by Gardaí as "shockingly dangerous" faces a court appearance.

This makeshift braking system was discovered when Gardaí inspected a vehicle in Letterkenny this evening. Gardaí will be conducting checkpoints and carrying out vehicle inspections all weekend. It is one of a number of vehicles seized by Gardaí today, ahead of the three-day Donegal International Rally, which starts tomorrow. This evening Gardaí launched a Road Education and Safety Project - Operation Nexus - in Letterkenny.
