Watersports gear stolen after Rossnowlagh storage unit is forced open

Wetsuits and ear defenders were stolen from a storage facility in Rossnowlagh and later recovered, having been abandoned in Sligo.

Gardaí are investigating the burglary that occurred at a premises in Rossnowlagh carpark between midnight and 9am on Sunday morning, August 18.

Garda Grainne Doherty said: “Entry was gained after a padlock was broken on a storage unit.

“A number of wetsuits and ear defenders were stolen from the premises.

“The wetsuits were recovered in Sligo later that day. They had been abandoned. 

“We appeal to anybody who may have been in the area of Rossnowlagh carpark or within the general area of Rossnowlagh beach with a dash cam between Saturday night and Sunday morning past to make contact with Gardaí. 

“If anybody observed any suspicious vehicles, in particular, vans, in the Rossnowlagh area on that date, please make Gardaí aware.”
