The man appeared at Letterkenny District Court
A Donegal man has been charged with six counts of alleged sexual assault.
The man, aged in his sixties, appeared at Letterkenny District Court.
The man cannot be named for legal reasons in order to protect the identity of the alleged victim in the case.
Garda Eugene Organ gave evidence of arresting the accused for the purpose of charge.
The man made no reply when each of the six charges were put to him.
There were no Garda objections to bail. A number of bail conditions were imposed.
The accused is to have no contact, directly or indirectly with the alleged victim or any witnesses, including via social media.
He is to remain contactable on mobile phone to Gardaí and is to reside at an address, which has been provided to Gardaí.
The man was granted bail on his own bond of €100.
Sergeant Jim Collins told the court that the Director of Prosecutions has directed that the matter be prosecuted on indictment.
The matter was adjourned to April 25 when a book of evidence will be saved.
