The following deaths have taken place:

Dylan McNamee, Drumkeen

The sudden death has taken place of Dylan McNamee, 22 St Bridget’s Crescent, Drumkeen.

Dylan’s remains will repose at his home in Drumkeen on Thursday, January   29 from 12 Noon until 10pm, with Rosary at 9pm.

Requiem Mass will take place in St. Patrick’s Church, Drumkeen at 11am on Friday  with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Brigid Gallagher, Lifford

The death has taken place on January 27 at Letterkenny University Hospital of Brigid Gallagher at the Coach House, Mount Southwell Place, Letterkenny and formerly of Sheercloon, Ballindrait.

Beloved daughter of the late Ellen and Patrick Gallagher and much-loved sister of Gracie (Tourish) and the late Patrick, Seamus, Vincent, Christina and Raymond.

Reposing at Quigley`s Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 28 from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.

Funeral leaving the funeral home on Thursday at 6pm to St Patrick`s Church, Murlog, Lifford to repose overnight.

Requiem Mass on Friday at 1pm. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Deeply regretted by her sorrowing sister, nieces, nephews and family circle.

Lawrence O'Toole, Finglas and Killybegs

The death has taken place of Lawrence O'Toole, late of Finglas and Killybegs.

He passed peacefully away on January 23 in the loving care of his family and the Palliative Care Team of the Mater Hospital.

Beloved son of the late Mary and Francis, loving brother of Brendan, Elizabeth, Mary, Rita and Bridget.

He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by his brother and sisters, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives, friends and neighbours.

Reposing at the Fanagan Funeral Home, Church Street, Finglas on Monday, February 2 from 5pm to 7pm. Removal on Tuesday morning to St Canice’s Church, Finglas arriving for 11am Requiem Mass followed by Cremation at Glasnevin Crematorium.

The family wish to sincerely thank the carers especially Mary and Thomas from Finglas Home Care who were so kind and caring to Lawrence in recent years.

Bridie Doherty, Malin Head

The death has occurred of Bridie Doherty (Jimmy Roe) (née O’Donnell), Killourt, Malin Head F93 N8W2.

Predeceased by her son Liam.

Beloved wife of Willie and much loved mother of Marie (Adrian) and Patrick (Jennifer) and cherished granny of Ciaran, Aoife, Corey, Shay, Maisey, Jay, Liam, Owen and Brendan.

Predeceased by her sisters and brothers and sadly missed by her brothers John and Tony, nieces and nephews, wider family circle, friends and neighbours.

Bridie’s remains will leave Eamonn McLaughlin’s Funeral home, Station Road, Carndonagh, F93 E4FN today (Wednesday) at 1pm going to her home.

Funeral from there on Friday (January 30th) at 11.30am for 12pm Requiem Mass in Star of the Sea Church, Malin Head followed by burial in Lagg cemetery.

Mairead Lafferty, Portnablagh

The death has taken place in Ard Gréine Court, Stranorlar of Mairead Lafferty, Rockhill, Portnablagh, Dunfanaghy.

Much loved and sadly missed by her sister Grainne and her brother-in-law James, nephews Kevin and Dermot (Liz) and extended family and friends.

Predeceased by her parents John and Sarah, brothers John and William and nephew Declan.

Her remains will be reposing at her sister Grainne’s residence at Rockhill, Dunfanaghy from 6.00 pm to 10.00 pm on Wednesday, January 28 and Thursday from 12.00 noon to 10.00 pm, for family and neighbours only please.

Funeral Mass in Holy Cross Church, Dunfanaghy, on Friday 30th January 2026 at 12.00 noon.

Burial afterwards in Doe Cemetery, Creeslough.

Joe McGee, Newtowncunningham

The death has taken place at his home on Tuesday, January 27 of Joe McGee, Ruskey, Newtowncunningham F93 WR1W.

Deeply missed by his loving wife Margaret, daughter Mary (Gary), sons Nigel (Ashling), Patrick (Louise) and Seamus (Caroline), grandchildren Conor, Gavin, Niamh, Mark, Rachel, Rónán, Reuben, Dean and Shane and great-grandchild Raya, brothers Cathal, James and Shaun, sister Gabrielle, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and a wide circle of family, friends and neighbours.

Joe is predeceased by his parents Neil and Margaret and his brother Eamonn.

Joe’s remains are reposing at his late residence on Wednesday, January 28  and Thursday from 12 noon until 10pm with Rosary both nights at 9pm.

Funeral from there on Friday, January 30 at 10.30am going to All Saints Church, Newtowncunningham for 11am Requiem Mass which can be viewed on www.churchservices.tv/newtowncunningham.

Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Family time please on the morning of the funeral.

Kieran Mc Groary, Laghey

The unexpected death has occurred of Kieran Mc Groary, Laghey Barr.

Predeceased by his father Liam. Kieran's remains will be reposing in Tirconaill Funeral Home Donegal Town F94FX3A on Wednesday, January 28 from 2pm until 8pm.

Funeral Mass on Friday at 11am followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery in St Brigids Church, Ballintra. Kierans funeral Mass can be viewed on churchservicestv/ Ballintra. House private to family and neighbours please.

Kieran will be sadly missed by his loving Mum Ann, brothers Shane (Caroline) Garrett (Sarah) sister Mary (Ronnie) Jack, Shay, Aiobhè, Liam; aunts, uncles and cousins, neighbours and friends.

Norman Pinkerton, Raphoe

The death has taken place in Letterkenny University Hospital of Norman Pinkerton, Gort Glebe, Raphoe (F93A3C1).

Predeceased by his parents Harry and Becky, and brother William.

He will be loved and remembered always by his sister Rebecca, son Kieran, daughters Sharon and Nadine, his grandchildren and his great-granddaughter.

He will be sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, cousins, the wider family circle, neighbours and friends, especially Ryan, Shauna and family.His remains will repose at his family home from 6pm on Tuesday, January 27 and from 10am on Wednesday.

Funeral prayers at his home on Thursday at 2pm followed by burial in The Cathedral Church graveyard.

Mary Kate Browne of Edeninfagh, Glenties

The death has occurred of Mary Kate Browne of Edeninfagh, Glenties.

Mary Kate passed away in Letterkenny University Hospital.

Sadly missed by her husband Peadar, her daughter Margaret, son-in-law Damien, grandchildren, niece and nephews.

Predeceased by her siblings Eddie, Susan, Charlie and Mickey and her sister in law Stasia.

Reposing at her home in Edeninfagh (F94 W5T8) from 2pm to 8pm on Wednesday, January 28.

Funeral mass will take place at the Church of the Holy Family, Edeninfagh at 11am on Thursdaywith burial afterwards in the local cemetery.

Dominic Michael McDermott, Malin Head and Manchester

The death has occurred on January 26 of Dominic Michael McDermott, of Ballyhillion, Malin Head F93 KF25, co-owner of Caffe Banba, Carndonagh and formerly of Manchester, UK.

He passed away at Letterkenny University Hospital surrounded by his family 

Predeceased by his Infant Son Evan. Beloved husband of Andrea and devoted father of Caragh, Áine, Aoibhinn and Roan.

Cherished son of Veronica and loving brother of Catherine.

Sadly missed by his wider family circle, friends and neighbours.

Dominic’s remains will leave Eamonn McLaughlin’s Funeral Home, Station Road, Carndonagh F93 E4FN on Tuesday at 5pm returning to his home.

His remains will repose at his home on Wednesday from 2pm to 9pm where everyone is welcome to pay their respects.

Funeral from there on Thursday at 10.20am for 11am Requiem Mass in St Mary’s Church, Lagg followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu if desired to the Irish Cancer Society C/O any family member or Eamonn McLaughlin Funeral Director.

Maire Chichibnoud, Ballyshannon

The death has taken place of Maire Chichibnoud, née Dilworth, 13 Station Road, Ballyshannon, F94 FK37. Maire passed away suddenly but peacefully at Sligo University Hospital.

Predeceased by her husband Renè Chichibnoud, her parents Ky and Gerry and their son James, she is sadly missed by her son Rodney (Hartion), her brothers Gerry (Mai), Peter (Bridge RIP), Eric (Katherine) RIP Imelda. 

Reposing at her late residence on Wednesday, January 28 from 2pm to 7pm. Removal from her late residence on Thursday, January 29 at 11am to arrive at St. Joseph's Church, The Rock, Ballyshannon for Mass of the Resurrection at 11.30a.m with service of interment in the adjoining cemetery.

House private to family outside of wake times and on the morning of the funeral. Family flowers only please.
