Death notices for Donegal

The following deaths have taken place:

- Margaret Gillespie, London and Mayo

- Eamonn Doohan, Gortahork

Margaret Gillespie, London and Mayo

The peaceful death has occurred of Margaret Gillespie, neé Corrigan, of Kings Cross, London and Formerly of Achill, County Mayo.

Predeceased by her loving husband Charles, late of Cashlings, Kilcar; sadly missed by her nieces and nephews, extended family and friends in Ireland and England.

Margaret’s remains will arrive to St Cartha’s Church. Kilcar, F94 KA07, on Monday at 7pm to repose overnight. Requiem Mass on Tuesday at 12noon followed by burial in the local cemetery.

Eamonn Doohan, Gortahork

Fuair Eamonn Ó Dubhchon as Mín Lárach, Gort a' Choirce bás sa bhaile. 

Dhéanfar é a fhaire sa bhaile Dé Sathairn ón 2 - 8 agus amárach ón 12 - 8. Beidh an paidrín an dá oíche ag a 8 a chlog.

Cuirfear é i Reilig Ghort a 'Choirce Dé Luain, an 16ú Feabhra i ndiaidh Aifreann Tórraimh ag a 1 a chlog i dTeach Pobail Chríost Rí, Gort a ' Choirce.

Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam uasal.

The death has taken place at his home of Eamonn Doohan, Meenlaragh, Gortahork.

Predeceased by his mother-in-law Máire Joe Diver; deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving wife Deirdre, daughters Shauna (Aidan) and Shannon, son Tomás, parents Tom Rua and Kathleen, father-in-law John Diver, granddaughter Aoibhínn, sisters Mary (Ronan), Marjorie (Donal) and Katie (Danny), brother John, in-laws, nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

His remains will repose at his home (F92 F825) on Saturday from 2pm to 8pm and tomorrow from 12pm to 8pm, with Rosary nightly at 8pm. House private after the Rosary and on the morning of the funeral.

Mass will take place on Monday at 1pm in Teach Pobail Chríost Rí, Gortahork, with burial afterwards in the adjacent cemetery. The Funeral mass can be viewed live on Kieran Roarty Funeral Director's Facebook page and on MCN media.

Susan Mc Grath, Pettigo

The death has taken place of Susan McGraty, née Morris, of Grouselodge, Pettigo, Donegal, F94RV08. She passed away peacefully at Saint Josephs Hospital, Stranolar. 

Predeceased by her late husband Packie, much-loved mother of John James (Rose) Lettercran, Bernie (Martin), Drumskinney, Dympna (Stephen) Letterkenny, Kieran (Eileen) Glenfin, Declan (Maura) Cashelenny and stepson Denis (England). Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her sorrowing sons, daughters, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and entire family circle.

Her remains are reposing in McKervey's Funeral Home 22 Erne Drive, Ederney County Fermanagh BT93 0EN on Saturday from 5pm to 9pm and on Sunday from 12 midday to 3pm, with removal at 3.30pm to repose overnight at her late residence, arriving at approx 4.15pm. Everyone is welcome to attend the wake at Grouselodge. Rosary at 9pm.

Funeral from her late residence on Monday morning at 10.30am arriving at Saint Josephs Church, Lettercran, F94 Y642 for 11am Requiem Mass followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.

Family flowers only please; donations in lieu if so desired to Barnes View Ward, Saint Josephs Hospital, Stranolar. Please make all cheques payable to Claude McKervey Funeral Director and send to 22 Erne Drive, Ederney County Fermanagh BT93 0EN. Donation box available in the funeral home.

Bridget Carr, Fanad

The death has taken place of Bridget Carr, née Friel, Glinsk, Fanad. She passed away peacefully at her home, in her 101st year, surrounded by her loving family.

Predeceased by her husband John; deeply regretted by her daughters Mary McElwaine and her husband Patrick (Ballylar), Christine McElwaine and husband John (Ballylar), Anne McColgan and husband Owen (Muff), Fidelma Mc Daid and husband Gary (Glenswilly), Bridgeen Doherty and husband Paddy (Killyclug), Martina Harley and husband Gerard (RIP 2022) (Rathdonnell), sons Shaun and wife Susan (Aughnagaddy), Patrick and wife Mari (Glinsk), Paul and wife Siobhan (Grovehall, Ramelton) and Enda and wife Brighdín (Cashelshanaghan); sadly missed by her adored 28 grandchildren and her eight great-grandchildren, extended family, neighbours and her many many friends.

Family time on the morning of the funeral.

Removal on Saturday arriving at St Mary's Church, Fanavolty for 11am Requiem Mass with burial afterwards in the adjoining graveyard. The Requiem Mass will be recorded and will be available to view on The Mc Ateer Funeral Director Facebook Page later on Saturday.
