The snow and ice from overnight will melt as the day progresses. However, it will continue to be cold with showers of rain, hail and sleet. There is also a heavy risk of thunder today.
Some snow flurries will occur especially on high ground for a time this morning. There will be sunny spells also. Highest temperatures of 4 to 6 degrees with mostly moderate southwest winds.
