Independent candidate Kevin O'Donnell has been eliminated on the sixth count in the Glenties local electoral area.

Still, only Micheál Choilm MacGiolla Easbuig and Michael McClafferty have been elected in the Glenties area.

Anthony Molloy (FF) remains firmly poised to be the next man elected, but the 1992 All-Ireland-winning captain is still shy of the 1,883 quota. Molloy, after the sixth count, is on 1,531 votes.

The distribution of Michael Harkin's votes has handed 100% Redress candidate Denis McGee a real shot in the arm.

McGee is currently next in line after Molloy on 1,240 votes.

Sitting Sinn Fein Councillor John Sheamais O Fearraigh (1,119), Sinn Fein candidate Kellie Rodgers (959) and Independent Jonathan Stewart (915) are in the frame as the distribution of O'Donnell's 628 votes begins.
