Brendan Cawley will take charge of Donegal and Armagh

Kildare's Brendan Cawley has been appointed as the referee for Donegal’s NFL clash with Armagh at the BOX-IT Athletic Grounds on Sunday. 

The Sarsfields' clubman also took charge of last season’s All-Ireland SFC decider between Kerry and Jim McGuinness’ men where the Kingdom won convincingly, 1-26 to 0-19.

Cawley has had several big assignments in recent seasons involving Donegal and was the man in the middle for the 2025 Ulster final extra-time win over Armagh.

Back in 2024, he also refereed Donegal’s All-Ireland semi-final defeat to Galway at Croke Park.
