Burt hurlers got their league campaign off to a winning start
Burt 3-9
Carndonagh 0-8
Goals win matches and 2025 Ulster Junior Hurling champions Burt showed that in some style in this Inishowen derby at Hibernian Park.
Carndonagh had the wind in the first half but did not really make it count as they hit seven wides. James Monagle opened the scoring for the visitors, but Peter Campbell replied with a well-struck goal for Burt.

This was a big score into the wind, as Darragh McCormick pointed for Carn. However, a mix-up in the Carn defence let Ciaran Porter in for Burt’s second goal.
Dylan Doherty, Shaun McCreanor and James Monagle all had points for the visitors, with Oisin Kerr and Porter (0-2) responding for Burt, who led 2-3 to 0-5 at the break.
Kevin Curran, Kerr and Campbell stretched Burt’s lead on the restart, as Carn battled hard but hit a few more costly wides.
McCormick and McCreanor pointed to leave just six points between the sides midway through the half, in the middle of a spell that also saw four wides.
But Campbell landed the third killer blow for Burt, with Stephen Gillespie pointing to seal the deal for the winners.
