Six Donegal players part of DCU panel who see off MTU Cork in Sigerson Cup

Jamie Grant from Termon and Shane O'Donnell of St Eunan's both started, with Glenfin's Ross Marley coming off the substitutes' bench as Dublin City University defeated MTU Cork 2-12 to 0-9 in the HE Sigerson Cup quarter-final.

Passy Christie's panel also included Oisin Cannon from St Michael's, Sean MacCumhaill's Oisin Gallen and Downings' Johnny McGroddy as they sealed a place in the semi-finals of the competition following a nine-point victory.

At the DCU Sportsgrounds, the hosts led 0-7 to 0-5 at the interval with Meath's Matthew Costello hitting five first half points and six in all in the absence through an ankle injury of Rob Finnerty from Galway. Second half goals from Jack Bryant from Offaly and Lorcan O'Dell of Dublin confirmed the DCU win.

University of Limerick defeated holders University of Galway 1-15 to 2-10, with Wednesday's other two quarter-finals taking place, with TU Dublin facing University College Dublin and St Mary's University College taking on University College Cork.
