Kilcoo boss Karl Lacey.
Karl Lacey admitted Kilcoo just didn’t fire on all cylinders in their 0-12 to 1-8 Ulster SFC quarter-final loss to Scotstown on Sunday at Pairc Esler.
Kieran Hughes landed a mark in injury time for the Monaghan men to level it and 'keeper Rory Beggan - with the last kick of the game - dramatically won it for Scotstown.
“It is disappointing when you don’t reach your potential, it makes it harder to take. We weren’t happy with our first half performance,” admitted Lacey after.
“We were sitting all-square at half-time. Scotstown, in fairness to them, brought real aggression and work-rate to it. We knew they’ve individual class who can step up on days like that too. That’s what it came down to.
“Kieran Hughes and Rory Beggan - how long have they been around kicking those frees at the highest level? Without over-analysing it, we didn’t perform the way we wanted and we didn’t stick to the process the way we wanted.”
