Yvonne Bonner celebrates her first goal with Irish teammate Niamh Kelly.
Yvonne Bonner booted two goals as the Adelaide Crows booked a spot in next week's preliminary final against North Melbourne with a comprehensive 67-point semi-final win over Tanya Kennedy’s Sydney Swans on Saturday morning.
After last week's shock loss to Brisbane, the Crows rebounded against the Swans to keep their season alive with the 82 to 15 victory at Norwood Oval.
Adelaide led 14-0 at the end of the opening quarter with Bonner grabbing her first goal in that dominant period. And, just before the half-time siren, the Glenfin girl did it again as her side exited 35-12.
The Swans, with Kennedy again doing her utmost to drive it, tried to mount a salvage operation but were more or less completely cut adrift by the end of the third period at 53-16. The Crows easily seen out the fourth and final quarter.
Sydney has endured an impressive 2023 season after a winless inaugural campaign in 2022, winning six games and last week's qualifying final against Gold Coast.
And while the loss ends Kennedy and the Swans' season, they can still hold their heads up high after reaching the semi-finals following a winless inaugural campaign in 2022.
