Mark McHugh has reportedly stepped aside from his position on the Roscommon senior footballers’ backroom team.

McHugh was part of Davy Burke’s set-up in 2023, with the Connacht side finishing off their Allinaz League Division 1 in third place and were beaten semi-finalists in the Connacht SFC. They made it as far as the preliminary All-Ireland SFC quarter-finals before going down to Cork 1-14 to 0-16.

The Kilcar native was coach with Fermanagh minors and also part of Maxi Curran's side who reached the LGFA All-Ireland semi-final and Division 1 League final last year.

The Roscommon Herald said that McHugh has made the decision “because of travel commitments.”
