Donegal GAA are delighted to congratulate Tanya Roberts Browne on her appointment as chairperson of the Wheelchair Hurling/Camogie committee.
Tanya is currently PRO of Downings GAA club and an invaluable member of the Donegal PR & Marketing committee.
Wheelchair Hurling and Camogie is an inclusive activity involving a six-a-side team that is suitable for all ages, genders, and abilities.
The game encompasses a range of fundamental skills that exist in hurling and camogie. The rules have been modified to adapt these skills to suit the individuals involved and their capabilities. It aims to enable individuals to grow and maintain optimum participation across the full diversity of Irish community life.
Tanya has been chairperson of Bord na nÓg in Downings, demonstrating exceptional leadership skills, strategic vision, and a deep understanding of the issues pertinent to the organisation's objectives.
"We are delighted to have Tanya assume the role," said Geraldine McTavish, GAA Diversity and Inclusion Manager.
"Her leadership will undoubtedly steer the working groups towards accomplishing our strategic objectives and advancing our mission to increase awareness of the GAA wheelchair Hurling/ Camogie sport, football for all sports and the wide brief of the Diversity and Inclusion initiatives."
