Joel Bradley Walsh in action for MacCumhaills
Malin 1-2
Seán MacCumhaills 0-11
Seán MacCumhaills maintained their good run of form with a six-point win over Malin in Connolly Park on Sunday afternoon
Former county man Joel Bradley Walsh top scored with four points for the Seán Martin and Kevin Keegan-powered Finn Valley men.
Martin, with his starting runs from half-back, proved a constant threat and capped a fine individual performance with two points.
Keegan prodded and probed all afternoon in a Man of the Match performance for the men managed by Gary Wilson.
The winners dominated from very early and deservedly led 0-5 to 0-1 at half-time against an off-colour Malin who are usually hard to break down on their home patch.
Bradley Walsh, Martin, and Chad McSorley were MacCumhaill's first-half point winners. John Gerard McLaughlin raised Malin’s sole first-half white flag
With Martin, Chad McSorley, Luke Gavigan, and Keegan pulling the strings, the visitors continued to dominate, and they were well out of sight before substitutes struck late for Malin’s goal.
Christopher McLaughlin had earlier scored the locals' only other point in a game that will not live long in the memory of the black and amber faithful.
The win moves the MacCumhaill’s side into fourth place in the Division 1 League table with two games to play and an outside chance of making a league final.
They are just one point adrift of joint second St Eunan’s and Naomh Conaill with a game in hand on the men from O’Donnell Park. They have one more game played with Naomh Conaill who look in pole position to claim second place.
Malin are in sixth place in the table on eight points with two games still to play.
