Five-star Na Rossa comprehensive winners against threadbare Pettigo

Oisin Caulfield hit one of the Na Rossa goals in their win against Pettigo

Na Rossa had a big win over an understrength Pettigo side at a sunny Madavagh on Sunday in the Junior A Championship.

Na Rossa 5-23
Pettigo 1-2

The border side had to call on the services of 51 year-old chairman Colin McFarland and Pauric Colton at 53 to complete their squad, with 12 regulars missing.

It made the task easier for Na Rossa, who needed the win after losing out to a last minute point in Carndonagh the previous week.

The home side led by 2-12 to no score at the break with the goals from Matthew Smith and Oisin Caulfield. Cillian Bonner added two more goals in the second half with Oisin Caulfield getting the other one. Na Rossa will have a tougher assignment next week when they host Letterkenny Gaels.
