Naomh Conaill Martin Regan has allayed some injury fears ahead of the Donegal SFC final
A 0-13 to 1-8 win over Gaoth Dobhair on Sunday sealed Naomh Conaill’s place in a sixth successive final.
John O’Malley missed the game through sickness while Leo McLoone pulled up in the warm-up. Early in the second half, Brendan McDyer was withdrawn.
Regan, whose side will face St Eunan’s or Kilcar in the October 9 showpiece, offered a positive diagnosis.
“I don’t think they’re too bad,” he said.
“Brendy was feeling a wee bit tight at that stage and Leo just wasn’t feeling 100 per cent in the warm-up.
“Both would have been fit to come in for the last 10 minutes if they had been needed. They should be grand for two weeks’ time. I don’t think there is anything major there.
“John was sick and had a bad few days. He didn’t sleep last night, but he was just sick and he’ll definitely be grand.”
This year’s will be Naomh Conaill’s seventh final in Regan’s eight-year tenure as manager.
He said: “They’re a hungry group. They are ambitious and they want to succeed. We’ve lost a lot of finals too. We’ve had good days and bad days, but it’s great to be in the final. We’ll put our best foot forward now and look forward to it.”
