No fewer than six members of Donegal’s LGFA panel are  TG4 All Star nominees, with captain Niamh McLaughlin having been shortlisted for the Senior Players' Player of the Year award.

All-Ireland champions Meath have 13 players in with a shout, while runners-up Kerry have 11. Donegal contested the Lidl National League Division 1 final before reaching the last four of the All-Ireland series, while there five nominees from Mayo, who also contested a TG4 All-Ireland Senior Championship semi-final.

McLaughlin is contesting for the top award with Kerry's Louise Ní Mhuircheartaigh and Emma Duggan of Meath. The Moville club player is also in contention for an All-Star at midfield - with six players chasing the two spots.

Donegal’s 2021 TG4 All Star winner Geraldine McLaughlin is joined on the 2022 list of nominations by team-mates Evelyn McGinley, Tanya Kennedy, Nicole McLaughlin and Niamh Hegarty.

Termon hotshot Geraldine McLaughlin is one looking for one of three places from the nine nominated for the full-forward line, with the maths being the same for her sister Nicole in the half-backs.

Their clubman McGinley and Kennedy from Robert Emmetts are shortlisted for the full-back line with Hegarty hoping to become a second time All-Star in the half-forward line.

The winners will be revealed at the 2022 TG4 All Star awards banquet, in association with Lidl, at The Bonnington Dublin Hotel on Saturday night.
