The Donegal GAA Centre in Convoy
The GAA President, Larry Mc Carthy, has announced a GAA Infrastructure grant of €200,000 towards the 5th pitch development in the Donegal GAA Centre Convoy.
The funding complies with a recent application and complements the recent €300,000 grant from the Sports Capital Funding announced by Minister of Sport Jack Chambers for the same project.
The GAA President, Larry McCarthy and the Minister for Sport, Jack Chambers, were present at the Donegal GAA Centre for the official opening of the facility on October 21, McCarthy performing the official opening.
Donegal GAA Chairman Mick Mc Grath welcomed the announcement and acknowledged the great imput from within the Donegal GAA Development Committee, and the continued development of our facilities in the county. He thanked all those involved.
A plan to develop a home for Donegal GAA first came to the floor in 2006 and it will cost in the region of €7.8 million fully when completed.
It is expected that the recent funding will ensure that the 5th pitch is completing, complete with state of the art LED floodlighting.
It is expected that the 5th pitch will be ready for the autumn of 2023 and will complete the pitches phase of the development.
