The Butt Drama Circle has done the double sending a second original festival play to the RTÉ All Ireland Drama Festival final next month.

The remarkable achievement is certainly a testament to actor, writer and producer, Shaun Byrne, who has once again struck a note with adjudicators and audiences alike with his writing, storytelling and original drama.

Tickets for the Balor shows are available to book in person, by phone at (074) 31840, or online at https://balorartscentre.ticketsolve.com/ticketbooth/shows

This year's play, Darkness Echoing makes a triumphant return to the Balor Arts Centre, Ballybofey on Wednesday and Thursday next, April 19 and 20 for two 8pm performances before taking to the road again for two important shows, the Ulster Drama Festival final in The Theatre at the Mill, Newtownabbey on Wednesday, April 26 and the RTÉ All Ireland Drama Festival final in The Dean Crowe Theatre, Athlone on Friday, May 5.

Shaun's play is set in present-day Donegal. The show has garnered popular acclaim for the way in which the serious themes of illness, addiction and separation are handled with humour used throughout to balance and relieve tense scenes for the audience.

The club was delighted with the draw for Athlone performance dates as the Friday night show makes attending the following evening’s Gala Night presentation function.
