The Olde Glen Bar
A Carrigart pub has been named by The Sunday Times as one of the top 10 best Irish pubs in Ireland.
The Olde Glen Bar, in Glen, south of Carrigart, was listed in tenth place in the latest edition of the Sunday Times 50 Best Irish Pubs, and was the only Donegal pub to reach the top 50.
Ciaran Sweeney, Head Chef at the location, cooked “some of the best contemporary Irish food,” said judges.

Judges said that people visited “to surrender to the age-worn charm” of the pub owned by Aengus Haughey, which had been “a home-from-home since the 1760s.”
The fact that Jamie Dornan was described as a “regular” was used as “further persuasion” to visit.
John Kavanagh The Gravediggers, in north Dublin, was listed as the best Irish pub in the country, famous for having no music or TVs, and “well-poured pints in gleaming glasses.”
