Letterkenny woman, Gina Grant, has been been elected as the new chairperson of the Donegal Education and Training Board (ETB).

Ms. Grant was nominated for the position by Sinn Féin Councillor Gary Doherty at this afternoon's monthly meeting in Letterkenny. Independent Councillor John Campbell seconded Cllr. Doherty's nomination.

Gina Grant served as deputy chairperson of the Donegal ETB for this past year. She is a founding member of Our Children's Voice, the group of Donegal parents who are advocating on behalf of the needs of children who have life-limiting conditions or high medical/physical needs.

Tributes were paid to outgoing chairperson Bernie Mulhern.

Geoffrey Brown was elected vice chairperson.
