Spraoi agus Spórt is now offering inclusive birthday parties designed to suit every child, in a welcoming new Carndonagh venue.
From February 14, all birthday parties will take place at Spraoi’s new party space in Unit 3, Bridgetown Business Park, Carndonagh, F93 E7TW. The new space includes calm areas and creative activities, so children can enjoy parties in ways that work for them, says CEO Helen Nolan.
“These parties are open to children of all abilities and are designed to be relaxed, fun and inclusive. A new sensory room and sensory soft play area are part of the party experience.”

Helen says children’s parties are all about fun and a bit of chaos. “We will offer all the usual fun activities at our new venue, but we will also cater for those children who sometimes need a quieter space.”
“For some children, especially toddlers and children with additional needs, typical party environments can be too loud and overstimulating. Inclusive parties allow children to take part at their own pace, reducing stress and making celebrations a positive experience for the whole family.”
The sensory room includes soft padded flooring, adjustable lighting, quiet seating areas and tactile sensory elements, providing a calm space for children to relax and regulate during parties. The adjoining soft play area features foam climbing blocks, tunnels and a ball pit, supporting safe movement, sensory exploration and inclusive play for children of all abilities.
“These spaces give children options to play, relax or take a break if needed. They are designed to support sensory needs while still feeling like a celebration.”
Helen says they can also offer customised parties for children with special needs. “For example, a child who becomes overwhelmed in busy environments can enjoy a smaller party with calm activities, lower noise levels and access to the sensory room when needed.”
“This new sensory space means my seven-year-old daughter Millie can enjoy birthday parties in a calm, inclusive environment that really works for her,” says parent Tracy Doyle. “It will make a huge difference for families like ours.”
Birthday parties run for two hours, and can be booked for 11am, 1pm, 3pm or 5pm at weekends and other times during the week on request. They cost €100 for up to 15 children. Tea and coffee are included for parents during the party.
Families can choose from a wide range of creative and activity-based party options. These include slime making, T-shirt design, mug making and tote bag design. Cupcake decorating, karaoke and party games are also available.
Helen says the new venue makes a big difference for families. “We wanted a space where every child feels comfortable from the moment they arrive,” she said. “Now families know straight away that these parties are for everyone.”
She said the new sensory facilities were made possible through community support. “We’re very thankful to Community Foundation Ireland and the RTÉ Toy Show Appeal,” she said. “Their funding helped us create a space that many families have been asking for.”
Birthday party bookings are now open. Bookings can be made through the office or online at www.spraoiagussport.ie. For further information or bookings, please contact Aimee Louise McLaughlin on 0749373303 or bookings@spraoiagussport.ie
