Influencer Alannah Kerrigan joined stylist Emma Murray and beauty expert Breige for the uplifting Confidence Closet finale
Family carers from across Inishowen enjoyed a morning of style, inspiration and self-care as Inishowen Development Partnership (IDP) celebrated the finale of its Care4Carers programme with a special Confidence Closet event in Buncrana.
Held at the Inishowen Gateway Hotel on Wednesday, October 14, the event was designed to help family carers look ahead to their next chapter, while highlighting the importance of taking time out for themselves after dedicating so much of their lives to caring for others.
Funded through the Dormant Accounts Fund, Care4Carers has supported more than 60 family carers over the past two years, providing valuable opportunities for connection, support and personal development.
Award-winning influencer and podcaster Alannah Kerrigan, known for her Mad About Herself podcast, acted as master of ceremonies for the occasion, bringing warmth and encouragement to the gathering.
Participants also benefited from the expertise of stylist Emma Murray, who shared advice on personal style, while Breige, of Glamour Hair and Make Up, offered practical tips and tricks for achieving easy everyday makeup looks.
Karen, from inCharge Ltd, also spoke about the company's app and how it is benefiting families across Ireland and the UK. The initiative was inspired by her daughter, Georgia.
In a message following the event, IDP organisers described it as “the most uplifting fun morning” and “the perfect end” to the Care4Carers programme.
They said the Confidence Closet provided an ideal opportunity to prepare participants for their next chapter, while reinforcing an important message about the need for family carers to prioritise their own wellbeing.
The organisers thanked Alannah, Emma, Breige and Karen for their contributions to the successful event.
Looking ahead, IDP said it was committed to continuing its journey alongside family carers, adding that it was excited to see what the future would bring for those who had taken part.
The event marked a celebration of the carers supported over the past two years and a reminder that those who devote themselves to caring for others also deserve opportunities to focus on themselves.
