A new seat in memory of May McClintock has been installed at Sentry Hill in Letterkenny.
The seat was installed by the Letterkenny Community Heritage Group.
Community Heritage group members Councillor Jimmy Kavanagh, Frank O’Donnell, Charlie Grant and Chairman Johnny McCollum attended the unveiling of the seat, overlooking Letterkenny.
May McClintock passed away in March 2016 after leaving an indelible mark on the community.
A founding member of the Letterkenny Tidy Towns committee, she was born in Convoy in 1931 before moving to Letterkenny following her marriage to John.
May was a well known and respected historian and an active member of the Donegal Historical Society, who was renowned for her scholarship of the Derryveagh evictions a
May was also recognised for her pioneering work in the Irish Farmer's Association (IFA) and was recognised with honorary life membership.
