Creeslough native Courtney Brennan has been presented with a scholarship award by Dublin City University at a ceremony to celebrate memorial and endowed scholarships.
In total, 47 students received awards named in honour of individuals and organisations who have played a key role in the life of Dublin City University and Irish society.
Courtney, a former student of Scoil Phobail Chloigh Cheannfhaola who is studying for a degree in Nursing from Dublin City University, was presented with the Endowed Ulster Bank Access Scholarship. Established by Ulster Bank, this scholarship was created to help support equal access to third-level education.
The 47 scholarship recipients were selected based on different criteria, depending on the wishes of those who created the scholarship. These include undergraduate students supported by DCU’s Access Programme, postgraduate students in the fields of Biotechnology, Accounting, Law and Journalism, and students with outstanding sporting achievements.
