Ramelton’s Gary O’Hanlon is the new Executive Chef at the K Club in Straffon, Kildare.

He moves from The Condor Club at Chateau du Coudreceau in Centre-Val de Loire, France, where he spent five years.

“Thrilled to announce that I’m going to be the new Executive Chef of the K-Club starting this week,” he posted on X, formerly Twitter. “After five amazing years in the Loire Valley, it’s time to come home and cook on Irish soil again. I’ve loved The K Club since I knew what a golf club was so I’m honoured and proud.”

Gary previously worked at Longford's award-winning Viewmount House, The Olde Post restaurant at Cloverhill, and the Lobster Pot Restaurant in the Galway Bay Hotel and Devlin’s Restaurant and Bar in Boston, and published a book, Food for the Soul, in 2014.

In 2019, Gary appeared twice on BBC One’s Saturday Kitchen and last year launched a podcast alongside fellow chef Gareth Mullins, called Dishing It Out.

The K Club Hotel is a five-star hotel with a golf course and spa, which hosted the Ryder Cup in 2006.
