A presentation of €1,000 has been made following a Lip Sync Battle, which took place in Letterkenny in November.

St Eunan’s GAA Club and Letterkenny Music and Drama Group teamed up - and competed - for an epic night of entertainment in The Mount Errigal Hotel in front of a huge crowd and the donation was made to the Greg Fitzgerald Recovery Fund.

Letterkenny native Greg suffered a stroke in March and is continuing his recovery at the National Rehabilitation Hospital in Dún Laoghaire and his son Leon was welcomed to O’Donnell Park to receive the donation.

“We were delighted tonight to make a presentation of €1000 to the Greg Fitzgerald Recovery Fund, a donation of the proceeds from our recent Lip Sync Battle between Letterkenny Music and Drama Group and St Eunan's GAA Club,” Letterkenny Music and Drama Group posted. “It was a fantastic night and we are honoured to pass on the donation to Greg and his family.”

Funds raised went to Letterkenny Music and Drama Group projects and St Eunan’s underage teams, following the night organised by Tina Higgins and proudly sponsored by Kernans.

Elaine Harvey, as Mary Poppins, and Sammy Bogan with Ollie Harvey, were the winners on the night. On the night, participants transformed into your favourite acts and strutted their stuff to win the votes of the judges - Rory Kavanagh, Letterkenny Pantomime Society’s Tina Garry, local writer and Letterkenny Music and Drama Group stalwart Kieran Kelly, and very special guest judge Amanda O’Carroll from Mrs Brown’s Boys - and the audience.
