A drug-driver was arrested on Bank Holiday Monday by Letterkenny Gardaí.
The motorist in question was initially stopped for a speeding office.
The driver was traveling in excess of a 50km/h speed limit governing a road on which there are ongoing roadworks.
Officers from the Letterkenny Roads Policing Unit carried out a roadside test and the driver tested positive before being arrested.
Letterkenny Gardai issued 11 fixed charge penalty notices for speeding offences in a 100km/h zone.
Among those were a driver detected at 138km/h and another who was clocked at 137km/h.
A Garda spokesperson said: “Do not take unnecessary risks on the roads. Get home safely this evening. Slow down.”
