US Rep Brendan Boyle is being sworn in and will officially begin his fifth term in office in the House Congress.
He took to social media on Tuesday to reach out to his supporters, saying: “Thanks to the voters of [Pennsylvania’s] Second Congressional District, today I will take the Oath of Office and be sworn into my 5th term in Congress.
“I look forward to serving as the Ranking Member of the Budget Committee and continuing my service in the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.
“I will never forget where I come from and who I’m fighting for.”
US Rep Brendan Boyle whose father Francis hails from Glencolmcille first secured a seat in Congress in 2014, having previously served in local government.
Having been elected to his fifth term, US Rep Boyle ran unopposed and was elected unanimously by his party to lead the Democrats on the House Budget Committee.
