Gardaí appeal for information on church robbery in Ballintra

Cash taken from candle sales

Gardaí have appealed for any information concerning a burglary at Saint Brigid's Catholic Church in Ballintra last Thursday, January 5 sometime between 3.30pm and 6pm.

A sum of money was taken from the box that holds hold candles.

Gardaí believe the theft was planned in advance as took would have to be used to force the cash box open.

They have appealed to anyone who may have been in the area and noticed anything suspicious to contact them.

They are also keen for anyone who may have dash cam footage and captured anything unusual on it in this area to get in touch.
