The illegal dumping at Corgarry, Ballybofey earlier today
Residents in Ballybofey-Stranorlar are outraged after two e massive bags of rubbish were discovered carelessly thrown in a grassy area at Corgarry outside the towns.
The photos show two big blue bags slumped near a ditch, possibly thrown there by a passing vehicle. One of the bags has spilled open, showing dozens of cans, several of which were picked up by the wind and scattered all down the field.
There also appears to be a discarded household item abandoned in the background too.
This is far from the first egregious case of fly-tipping the Twin Towns has seen in recent months. Other residents from the area discovered household rubbish thrown in ditches while out for an evening stroll and another local shared photos of other types of waste including discarded alcohol bottles and cans along scenic walks too.
The Ballybofey-Stranorlar Tidy Towns Committee have made great strides in recent times organising clean-up events so this sort of behaviour is certainly not in keeping with what the majority of people want for their locality.
Anyone spotting illegal dumping of any description is asked to contact Donegal County Council and the gardaí to report the matter.
