Gardaí have charged the woman aged in her 20s, who was arrested in connection with the fatal assault which reportedly took place in the Slieve Liag/Killybegs area of between June 24 and 25, 2023.
The woman has been charged with murder. She is due to appear before a Special Sitting of Letterkenny District Court this morning, Tuesday, August 29 at 11.00am.
She is understood to have been arrested in the Letterkenny area on Monday morning. The woman is currently detained at Letterkenny Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
The body of Roert Wilkin, aged in his 60s and originally from County Tyrone, was recovered from the water on July 3.
A man, Alan Vial, has since been charged with murder. Vial and the woman who has now been re-arrested were previously arrested on suspicion of a serious assault.
