Some Donegal roads left impassable due to snow and frost

The Lough Salt road between Glen village and Kilmacrennan and the back of Errigal road were said to be impassable after fallings of snow and an onset of frost overnight

Over 20 cars stuck on Meenaroy due to snow with cars off the road at Glengesh

Several roads in Donegal were left impassable on Saturday morning due to overnight snow and frost.

The Lough Salt road and the back of Errigal road were noted to be particularly bad for motorists.

Road conditions were treacherous in many areas and Met Éireann issued a moderate snow and ice warning.

The Lough Salt road, between Glen village and Kilmacrennan, was impassable while the R251 road at the back of Errigal mountain in a similar condition.

The Met Éireann weather alert ended, but road conditions remained tricky for motorists across the county.
