World Down Syndrome Games swimmers Anna Hennessy and Eoin Rooney need sponsors

An appeal is being made for business sponsors for swimmers Eoin Rooney and Anna Hennessy who will represent Ireland in the World Down Syndrome Games.

The games take place in Turkey from March 19 to 26 and with no funding available, the athletes would really appreciate support from the business community.

Both swimmers train in the Finn Valley Athletics Centre and are supported with a competitive swimming coach as well as strength and conditioning, and physiotherapy. They are affiliated with the Swilly Seals, Letterkenny and Nemo Special Olympics Swim Club in the Finn Valley Leisure Centre. 

Here is how your support will benefit the athletes and benefit your brand:

Eoin Rooney

Eoin is a 22-year-old man from Ballyshannon. He has previously competed in the Special Olympics Ulster and Ireland, and the European Down Syndrome Games in Italy.

Anna Hennessy

Anna is a 24-year old woman from Letterkenny. To date she has competed in the Special Olympics Ulster, the European Down Syndrome Games in Italy and the World Championships.

"It will also help contribute towards strength and conditioning, physiotherapist (Oliver Nolan, Physio Éireann, Donegal Town for Eoin, and Eddie Crawford, Letterkenny for Anna), and help provide specialised training equipment, competition race suits (ranging in price from €300 upwards for Eoin and €400 upwards for Anna). Your contribution will help me realise my full potential and represent you and our nation on the world stage.

Each sponsor will receive

Sponsor Options

There are three sponsor levels -

Gold: €950 to contribute to €1,634 World Games travel fees

Silver: €500 towards racing suits, goggles and accessories

Bronze: €250 towards physio and massage preparation
