The competition's music judge, Trudy O’ Donnell, remarked on the band's great use of dynamics, harmonies and transitions between tunes. The judges also emphasised the importance of practice and it was evident how much effort was put into Cloughaneely’s superb display of music and marching.
Well, practice makes perfect and in July, the band will travel to Paris to take part in the Disneyland parade and members will showcase their Disney routine as well as their traditional Fleadh programme.
The band are reigning All-Ireland champions in Fleadh Cheoil Na h-Eireann Competition and will travel to Wexford In August to retain their All Ireland title.
However, the bands next event is even closer, as both the junior and senior Cloughaneely band are set to showcase their skills at Donegal’s Ulster SFC with Derry in Celtic park on April 20.
A busy marching schedule to say the least!
