Narin New Year's Day swim raises more than  €3,000 for local causes

The Narin New Year's Day swim has raised a total of €3152.07 for causes in the area.

Around 250 people took to the water for the popular annual event which attracts hundreds of spectators.

The total amount raised is being divided and going directly to the Downstrands Family Resource Centre Counselling Service, the Rosbeg & Downstrands Care of the Aged and the Dolmen Centre Narin Rosbeg Portnoo Community Co-Op.

“A massive thank you to everyone who took part in this year's swim; to those who donated, to all those who took part in the swim, the bucket collectors and to the coast guard,” Downstrands Family Resource Centre posted.
