Danielle Carty has just been appointed as the new manager of the Bundoran Community Centre.
Danielle has taken up the job in recent days and as she says herself, she is just finding her feet at present, with a busy schedule ahead, especially since the lifting of Covid restrictions earlier in the year.
Danielle is no stranger to the role as she spent the previous two and a half years as the manager of the Rossinver Youth Community project. A native of Castegal she has lived for many years with her family in Ardfarna.
Over recent times she has also been involved in the outdoor lessons in Bundoran under the auspices of the Irish Water Safety Organisation, which thankfully was still able to run a successful course last year.
Married with four children, husband Seanie is a former Bundoran Town councillor, fisherman and owner of the popular fish and tackle shop in the West End of town.
She told DonegalLive.ie:
“I am delighted to take up the new position and am very excited about all that we have on offer. With the Covid restrictions that have been a challenge to the centre since 2020, we are delighted to be in a position to offer all our services to the community again. We are very much open for business with lots of new plans and ideas for the future.
“Upstairs we have a co-lab that people can used as a facility for remote working. There are also different rooms available for booking.
“We work alongside many groups from Foróige to the Women’s group. We run many different courses and are a facilitator for counselling services and then of course, there are general bookings as well. We also host a number of other local organisation meetings and not to forget our museum.”
Making the announcement the Secretary of the BCC CLG, Brian McNulty said:
“The Directors of The Bundoran Community Development CLG are delighted to announce the appointment of Ms Danielle Carty as the new Manager of its centre on Main Street.
“Danielle brings a wealth of experience and local knowledge to the position that I am sure will be invaluable in promoting the ethos and objectives of the centre.
“May we wish Danielle every success in her new position.”
Her predecessor Martin McDevitt, who has moved to a new role with the DLDC (Donegal Local Development Company) is wished the best of good luck, having also previously worked in both Bundoran and the Niall Mór Centre in Killybegs.
