The Donegal Junior Strings Orchestra at Ballougry Primary School (just across the border from Carrigans) during their recent tour of schools
If you love music and would like to support local talent then you should really consider visiting Letterkenny this coming Sunday to listen to the Donegal Junior Strings Orchestra at their free family concert to celebrate St Cecilia, the patron saint of musicians.
The young string players of the Donegal Music Education Partnership under the direction of Víctor Yélamo, will play in Conwal Church with a programme that includes well-known classical pieces, such as Pachelbel’s Canon and Offenbach’s Can Can, plus popular tunes from Disney movies.
This orchestral festive concert is expected to feature solo and chamber music performances from these talented players.
This will also be a great opportunity to listen live to a variety of pieces ranging from Bach's Cello Suite to Edelweiss from the Sound of Music and other favourites melodies in this historical building, the oldest one in town.
This event is organised by Donegal Chamber Music Society in collaboration with Donegal Music Education Partnership as part of their popular concert series 'Sundays in Conwal'.
These Sunday afternoon concert series were established in 2012 in this iconic church in the heart of Letterkenny town.
Admission is free and everyone is welcome
