Roads across Donegal to be gritted with temperatures set to drop

Met Éireann is warning of very cold weather this week which is to bring severe frosts and icy stretches on roads

Roads across Donegal will be gritted on Sunday night and Monday morning

Roads across Donegal will be gritted on Sunday night and Monday morning with temperatures set to drop below freezing.

Donegal County Council gritters will be on the roads from 5pm on Sunday in some areas of the county and across the rest of the county from 7pm.

All designated routes will be gritted on Monday from 6am. The council is warning motorists to assume that no road is ice-free.

Met Éireann says temperatures will drop to between -1 and 4 degrees on Sunday night with Monday to have highest temperatures of just 5 to 7 degrees.
The forecaster is also warning of very cold weather this week which is to bring severe frosts and icy stretches on roads as well as showers of hail, sleet, and snow in the second half of the week.
