Much sadness at death of Donegal Town woman, Helen McMullin

There is much sadness in Donegal Town following the death of one of its best known citizens, Helen McMullin.

Late of Upper Main Street, Helen passed away peacefully in Sligo University Hospital on Sunday, October 26.

Helen worked as a nurse for many years, having spent time in England before returning home to Donegal.

Her caring nature extended beyond her work to the wider community where her voluntary roles included teaching swimming to children with the St John Bosco Club in her youth, and more recently, being a founding member of the former Donegal Town Community First Responders group.

Helen was a proud Donegal woman and a strong supporter of the county GAA team.

Predeceased by her parents Timothy and Sarah McMullin, sister Margaret, and brother Frankie, Helen is survived by her sister Mary (Larry Houston) and brother Jim, sister-in-law Susanna, nieces, nephews, her neighbours, friends and former colleagues.

Her mains are reposing at Tír Conaill Funeral Home, Drumrooske, Donegal Town, F94 FX3A on Monday from 3pm to pm. Removal to St Patrick’s Church to repose overnight for Mass at 11am Tuesday followed by burial at St Agatha’s Church, Clar.

Family flowers only - anyone who would like to make a donation in Helen’s memory can do so to St Patrick’s Church, Donegal Town.
