Medals galore for Donegal athletes in Jordanstown

Donegal athletes were firmly among the medal winners at the UUJ Indoor Sprints and Hurdles meet on Saturday afternoon.

Letterkenny AC's Katie Elliott was a double gold medallist.

Elliott won the under-16 60m hurdles in 9.87 seconds, staving off Gabby Scates.

In the 60m sprint, Elliott finished in 8.43 seconds to take gold from Ruby Sterrett.

Finn Valley AC's Janine Boyle won the senior women's 60m sprint. Boyle won in 7.72 seconds, inching out Emma Hutchinson (Ballymena and Antrim AC), who nosed over in 7.73.

Amy Timoney of Finn Valley AC took the under-17 60m sprint. Having got in ahead of LAC's Fern Duffy in the heat, Timoney won the final when recording 7.98 seconds.

Lifford-Strabane AC's Ashleigh McArdle was the leading under-18 over 60m hurdles, winning in 9.41 seconds.

Harriet McCrossan, the Lifford-Strabane athlete competing for Speed Development Project Track Club, won the under-19 60m in 7.97 seconds.

It was a Letterkenny AC one-two in the under-15 60m with Kayla Russell winning in 8.52 seconds from clubmate Anya Duffy.

Rosses AC's Oisin Gillspie took gold in the under-15 60m hurdles, edging out Finn Valley AC's Mark Wilkinson when finishing in 9/71 seconds.

Harry McIlwaine of LAC was second in an under-15 60m, clocking 7.95 seconds, while his club colleague Luke Elliott took silver in an under-14 hurdles in 11.71 seconds.

Niamh Doogan from Rosses AC collected silver in the under-14 60m in 8.94 seconds and also in the 60m hurdles in 10.36 seconds.

LAC's Odhran Grimes was third in his under-18 60m heat.
