Amy Timoney of Finn Valley AC won a silver medal at the Scottish Indoor Championships on Saturday.

In the 60m hurdles final, Timoney crossed the line in 9.21 seconds, pipped by just 0.01 of a second.

At the Emirates Arena in Glasgow, Amy Jenkinson from Dunfermline won in 9.20 seconds.

Timoney, who is under the direction of Helen McCready in her native Rosses, won her heat in 9.24 seconds, moving on as the second fastest qualifier.

Finn Valley AC’s Lauren Callaghan finished fourth in the long jump, clearing 5.84m.

Last week, Callaghan set a new Championship best of 6.19m to win gold at the Irish Universities Athletics Championships on Saturday.

The Paul Wilkinson-coached Callaghan recently broke the Donegal indoor long jump record when going out to 6.24m.

Katie Louise McMonagle reached semi-finals in the 60m and 200m.

McMonagle, who is coached by Ann Slevin, qualified from her 60m heat - the fastest of the four heats - in 8.44 seconds.

McMonagle was just one place off a spot in the final, finishing in 8.38, ninth overall with eight going on to the final.

McMonagle ran 28.20 seconds to qualify for the 200m semi-finals.
