Finn Valley AC were inched out of the medals at the National Indoor League final on Saturday.
Some impressive and gutsy performances kept those in the blue and white in the hunt for a podium place right throughout.
In the end, though, an understrength Finn Valley missed out at the TUS International Arena in Athlone.
Bridget McDyer threw a Donegal best performance of 6.26m to win the shot.
McDyer finished second in the shot when reaching out to 9.79m.
Lauren Callaghan continued her excellent form by winning the long jump. A 5.85m best was down on recent attempts - which included a new Donegal record of 6.24m - but still strong for the Killygordon woman to take the win.
Natasha Kelly ran a magnificent 3000m and came out on top. Kelly, who works as the Paratriathlon Lead with Triathlon Ireland, finished in 10:08.97.
Kelly overcame Maria McCambridge to take full points for Finn Valley, who might have contested higher with the presence of the likes of Sommer Lecky, Hannah Murray, Sinead Gallagher and Arlene Crossan, who were absent.
Elmear McCarroll has been having a busy spell, but shook off any fatigue to finish second in the 800m.
McCarroll was 13th to help the Finn Valley AC junior team take an eighth place at the European Club Cross Country Championships last weekend and followed up by taking second at the Ulster Schools Cross Country on Wednesday.
In Athlone, McCarroll wasn’t just in 800m action as she also finished eighth in the high jump, going over 1.35m.
Sinead McConnell, a week after winning gold at the National Masters, finished second in the 1500m walk, crossing the line in 8:01.46. Her sister Catriona Devine finished sixth in the 1500m, going 5:00.02.
McCarroll linked up with Devine, Kelly and Demi Crossan for third in the 4x400m (4:25.32).
Aine Kerr came third in the triple jump (10.41m) while Crossan was fourth in the 400m (1:03.11). Aoife McGee was fourth in the 200m (28.48 seconds) and seventh over 60m (8.31 seconds).
McGee, Kelly, Crossan and Kerr clocked 1:58.11 for fourth in their 4x200m relay.
Finn Valley finished on 68 points, with Craughwell taking third on 74, behind Dundrum South Dublin and Ratoath.
