Kathryn McDevitt booked her spot in her 200m semi-finals at the World Masters Athletics Indoor Championships in Poland.

The Letterkenny AC woman clocked 27.31 seconds in her heat on Thursday morning.

McDevitt was second in the heat, behind Anna Bjoerkstedt of Sweden, who returned in 27.03 seconds.

The W40 200m semi-finals take place on Friday with McDevitt also set for relay action on Saturday in Arena Toruń.

McDevitt helped Ireland to golds in the 4x100m and 4x400m relays at the World outdoors last year in Finland.

Tir Chonaill AC's Shane Toolan finished fifth in his M65 60m heat on Thursday. Toolan's 9.16-second run missed out on qualification for the semi-finals.

Already this week, Kay Byrne won gold in the 8k cross country while her Finn Valley AC colleague Sinead McConnell collected bronze in the 3k race walk.

McConnell goes in the 10k race walk on Friday with Garvin Boyce, also of Finn Valley AC, toeing the line in the 1500m on Friday evening.

Finn Valley duo Catriona Devine (1500m) and Noreen Bonner (half marathon) are in action on Saturday.
