Full results: Sean McGinley and Teresa Doherty win Shane Bonner Memorial 5k

Sean McGinley and Teresa Doherty were the winners of the Donegal 5K in Letterkenny, with their club Finn Valley AC also winning the team events.

The race took place in memory of the late Shane Bonner, a 20-year-old from Convoy who represented Finn Valley and was tragically killed in an accident in 2011.

McGinley was first home in a time of 15:19 in the men’s race, ahead of clubmate Oisin Toye, who finished in 15:26 and Rosses AC’s Declan Ferry was third in 15:43.

In the female race, Doherty won in 16:49, with Leoni Cooke, also Finn Valley, clocking 17:43 to come second. Third place went to Tír Chonaill AC’s Ciara Cunningham with 18:03.

The Finn Valley foursome of McGinley, Toye, Gavin McCullagh and Shea Carlin was the best of the men’s teams, with the ladies going to the quartet of Foherty, Cooke, Joanne Campbell and Sinead McDaid.
