Matt Doherty, who was a COC in the 1980s, has also thrown his hat into the ring.
Doherty is a native of Derry now is now living in the Rathmullan area, who has a long-standing involvement and interest in motorsport.
Prior to taking over as COC, McGee acted as chief marshal and a timing co-ordinator with the Donegal Motor Club.
