Raphoe Boxing Club’s David Tennyson won gold at the HSK Box Cup in Denmark at the weekend.

Tennyson won the under-17 lightweight division.

The Gortahork native defeated Magnus Sorensen in the final at the Royal Stage in Hillerød, Denmark.

Tennyson took a unanimous 5-0 decision to leave with an impressive victory over Sorensen, representing the Denmark-based BK Wedala club.

The HSK Box Cup has been hosted by the Hillerød Sports Klub since 1985. A total of 430 boxers entered the weekend’s tournament.

Earlier this year, Tennyson won the Ulster Boy 4 52kgs title when beating Killyman's Marcus McDonagh.

At the National Senior Cadet Championships in July, Tennyson lost out to Kilmyshall man Patrick Kelly.
