Eamonn Kelly on the charge during Rally Sweden.
Eamonn Kelly sped to the podium at Rally Sweden at the weekend.
The Frosses rally driver was third in the Junior World Rally Championship across over 300km of Scandanavian snow.
Kelly, with Conor Mohan on the notes in the Ford Fiesta Rally3, was 20th in the overall standings.
Swedish teenager Mille Johansson took a stunning debut victory in the JWRC.
The 18-year-old was competing in the FIA World Rally Championship for the first time and Johansson snatched first place in the M-Sport Poland-run contest on SS6 and never looked back, winning by 48.9 seconds.
FIA Rally Star program member Romet Jürgenson was second with Kelly third in his Fiesta Rally3 on Pirelli tyres.
Kelly had trouble with a fogged windscreen on the first stage and on SS4, Floda, on Saturday, he got stuck behind a slow mover, costing some time.
By the end of Saturday's stages, Kelly was up to third and maintained his place to earn a spot on the podium.
In 2023, Kelly was the JWRC victor at Croatia Rally and was second on the EKO Acropolis Rally Greece.
